I had the pleasure of meeting these seals and what feels like their keeper in Hout Bay today. I didn't catch his name, but he had names for all of his dogs and was able to discribed each ones personality to us. Kinda crazy how you can catch a glimpse of each in these portraits. This fisherman who works at the harbour everyday says these males only leave to their island during mating season. Awaiting their snacks at the end of each day I saw an unreal amount of trust between him and these seals, calling them one at a time for a treat as well as greeting them at the end of each day as he walks away.

These are two of my favourite people. Ilya in Woodstock and Diane at Afrika Burn 2013, both 35 mm. Also, they are getting married soon.
